DESIGN PORTFOLIO ENTRY: Janruary 24, 2008
For my design activity, I chose to visit nikeid.nike.com to make my own shoe. Here's what I came up with (the catch-phrase at the heal is "pulse"):
Redfoot's Nike Id shoe
Redfoot's Nike Id shoe

Not much to say here. Um, basically I've always liked the combination of pink and blue and I didn't want it to look tacky so I just used neutral colors for the "swoosh" and interior of the shoe. As for the value of this little project, I don't see much. I only had one option for the design of the shoe itself: I just chose the colors. However, I think this is a marvelous marketing ploy because even though I only got to design the colors, I felt like that shoe was mine. And I wanted to buy it (even though it was *gasp* $110)! So, in conclusion, this exercise had no personal value for me but I do see how this is a good way of making the public buy more Nike shoes. My shoe is pretty though, right?
